1992
Thea Ruesink and her son (Robert Ruesink) start up a headwear speciality store ‘Ruesink Hoeden’ at the historical city centre of Zwolle.
1993-1995
Additional to the store sales Besides to shop sales, hats and caps are being sold at fancy fairs and lifestyle-fairs.
1997
The collection is extended: hats and caps are being produced in several European countries. The own brand Hatland is put into the market. De wholesale company Hatland Headwear is founded.
2002
Besides the sales to independent retailers, Hatland Headwear starts selling to national and international department stores and chain stores. From now on the hats and caps are also being produced in the Far East.
Hatland Headwear becomes an exclusive agent of the American brand Stetson in the Netherlands and gets a new facility located in the city center of Zwolle.
2004
Hatland Headwear becomes exclusive distributor of the Australian brand Barmah in the Benelux and moves to a larger facility located at the Trawlerweg (industrial area).
2006
Hatland Headwear becomes exclusive distributor of the English brand Kangol in the Benelux and has to move again to a larger facility at the Branderweg.
